The Longest and Most Important Relationship you’ll ever Have is the One You Have with Yourself….
The longest and most important relationship you’ll ever have, is the one you have with yourself.
Heal her. Nurture her. Love her.
It took me a long time to understand these words and even longer to embrace them. Most days the relationship with myself was one filled with judgment and not enoughness. It was the story handed down generationally and continued to build through the awkward middle school years into the teen years where I only saw what everyone else told me…“You are too puny, you look like a bird, your hair looks like a “fro”…, “ don’t u know how to read a map”….all just words, but creating deep imprints in my body of not enoughness.
After a while those imprints in the body become like grooves in a record. You replay the record in your mind, the judgment growing with you as you age. In the mirror, in the classroom, in the workforce, as a mother, on social media, as an entrepreneur. The comparison with everyone else around you keeps the groove on the record playing, your worthiness being scratched with every thought, every scroll, every comment.
Learning to love and accept yourself is how you begin to release the imprints in your body, to make new grooves on that record. And when you find your way to a more loving , nurturing relationship with yourself, you live your life differently…BIGGER, DEEPER, MORE ALIGNED WITH YOU
It is my greatest purpose now to help you find your way here, to embrace these words as your own mantra. Your path will look different than mine, but to help you find every way possible to get here. To build pathways that allows you to feel safe to show up as you with your insecurities while being seen and heard in all of your magnificence.
Healing is the first step in how you rewrite your relationship with yourself. To guide you to love every part of you, to nurture yourself in all ways (and not just everyone around you), to believe you belong fully in the room… whatever room you are entering, to take up space in your life, on the mat, in the office, on the stage, etc.
